myra.jpgMyra Hughes:  Office Manager

Myra is the wife of Dr. Hughes.  She oversees the business end of the practice but has been known to assist in all areas – from cleaning kennels to assisting in surgery to receptionist.  Myra has a degree in Business Education but has worked full time in the practice for several years.  Myra enjoys reading, spending time with family, attending Brahman cattle shows and meetings with her husband and cooking when time permits.  She is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.  Myra and Dr. Hughes have two grown children, a daughter, Janna, and a son, Bradley.

Missy LaBeff – Receptionist

Missy joined our staff in October 2008.  Prior to joining our staff, Missy worked as a receptionist in a medical doctor’s office.  She has two children, Isaac and Jacquelynn. In her spare time, Missy enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Glenda McDonald  - Administrative Assistant

Glenda began working at Hughes Animal Hospital in late August 2009. Glenda originally joined our staff in May 2004, working for a few months until Dr. Hughes opened Arkadelphia Pet Care in July 2004, where she worked as receptionist.  Dr. Hughes sold APC in October 2008.  Glenda continued to work as a receptionst there until returning to Hughes Animal Hospital to work as an Administrative Assistant and Receptionist. 

Although she has a degree in education, Glenda has been working in a veterinary office since August 1997.  Glenda has two cats, Pharoah and Spooky, that she refers to as her kids. When not working, Glenda enjoys spending time with her cats, family and friends as well as reading and watching movies and attending church activiities.

Emily.jpgEmily Wooldridge -  Veterinary Assistant

Emily began working at Hughes Animal Hospital in January 2004 in a part-time position while attending college.  Emily began working full time the following summer.  Emily grew up in DeQueen, AR, where her family lived on a farm.  Emily says they had a lot of animals – you name it, they had it.  Since moving to Malvern, her animal family now consists of her dog Macho, a Pit Bull.  Emily says she really loves animals which is why she works here.  Emily married her husband Rance on May 15, 2010.  The ceremony was held at the historic Ritz Theater in downtown Malvern.

Dee.jpgDeAnn Ramsey – Veterinary Assistant

DeAnn joined began working at Hughes Animal Hospital in August 2009.  DeAnn previously worked on the human side of medicine as a CNA for several years.  DeAnn’s love of animals is evidenced by her own animal family.  She has  dogs, rabbits, goats and horses.  Between work and caring for her own animals, DeAnn has little time for other hobbies.

 

Rebecca Powell – Veterinary Assistant

Rebecca joined the staff of Hughes Animal Hospital in August 2009 as a veterinary assistant.  Rebecca has lived in Prattsville for 35 years.  She married her husband, Gerald, in 1985.  They have one grown daughter, Danielle.  Rebecca completed the Professional Animal Care Specialist Program from the Professional Career Development Institute in May 2002.  Rebecca and her family have 5 Chihuahuas.  Her love of animals inspired her to obtain employment in the veterinary field.

Carla Montgomery – Veterinary Assistant

CarlaCarla originally joined the staff of Hughes Animal Hospital in July of 2007 as a veterinary assistant.  She quit work in the fall of 2009 due to health reasons.  In May 2011 we welcomed Carla back to a part-time position.  Carla is married to husband Jonathan and has two children - son -Shelby and daughter - Jade.  Carla's love and compassion for animals is obvious in her committment to her career and her own animal family.  Carla has two dogs - a Doberman named Paris and a mixed breed dog named Snuff.  She also has two cats - Tommy and Boo.
